X (Twitter)
What is X (Twitter)?
X, formerly known as Twitter, is a real-time microblogging and social media platform through which users can publish their thoughts in the form of “Tweets” of 280 characters or less.
Users can engage with tweets from their accounts by liking, retweeting, commenting, and resharing. Hashtags are commonly utilized on Twitter to increase the visibility of tweets.
Key Elements Of Twitter
1. @mention
On X, when you want to tag someone in a tweet or direct message, you can mention their username. This will mainly help users have conversations with other users on the platform.
2. #hashtag
# This symbol on social media platform X is an important element. It is used before words in tweets to make them easily visible to users. One or two hashtags are enough in a tweet; just remember not to overuse hashtags.
3. DM (Direct Message)
DM stands for direct message, which is a private message between two Twitter users. However, to send a DM to a user, you must follow them on this social media platform.
4. Follower
On Twitter, a follower is a user who follows your profile and views the updates on their feed. Sometimes, it’s not necessary to follow back the users who follow you on X.
5. Retweet
A retweet means someone found the content valuable enough to repeat the tweet on their home feed and share it with their followers.
6. Trolls
Users on X who abuse the service by spamming users with erratic behavior or, in simple words, internet harassment, are known as Trolls.
